This is FISSA MODA's first fully custom website, migrated from Duda to Webflow. After rebranding, Josh [the owner of FISSA MODA] needed a responsive website that could reflect the new aesthetic, while staying within his monthly budget. Not only did we deliver on the brief, but the monthly cost of the new website is less than Duda, while including many more features for marketing and personalisation.
The following sections will be broken down into the various services/roles I undertook throughout the project:
WEB DESIGN
After collecting all the content for the website I began the process by creating a sitemap so we had an idea of how many pages we required. We then created a wireframe which mapped out the basic flow of the website and organisation of the content while taking any special features/animations into account.
Once we are happy with the wireframe, we will export it into Webflow to apply brand styling using Finsweet's Client-First v2.1 guidelines to ensure maximum accessibility for both designers and users.
WEB DEVELOPMENT
This is where I focus on getting the mechanics of the website to work as planned during the design phase. For this project, my biggest challenge was the music media player and playlist, particularly ensuring the process of adding/removing music was simple enough for Josh to do himself.
Now for the exciting, and often overlooked part: legal compliancy. FISSA MODA required a privacy policy, cookie policy, terms & conditions, return policy, disclaimer, shipping policy and acceptable use policy. I created and managed all of these in Termly - a service that uses trained lawyers to update policies in real-time to stay compliant with an ever-changing legal landscape.
And lastly... SEO. I created an account on Google Search Console to make a few tweaks and manage the site's SEO to make sure it ranks as high as possible.
MARKETING
The marketing aspect of this project included a few tasks:
- Set up a newsletter with MailChimp
- Create an automation that sends a 10% discount to users that have signed up to the newsletter
- Video-call workshop to show Josh the features and functionality of MailChimp, including the process of creating email campaigns and automations.
